Commission on Religion and Belief in British Public Life
Together with FaithAction, a discussion was held on the Commission on Religion and Belief in British Public Life on Monday 7 March at 4 p.m. in Committee Room 2a in the House of Lords.
The Commission was convened in 2013 by the Woolf Institute, and was chaired by Baroness Butler-Sloss. It considered the place and role of religion and belief in contemporary Britain and made a number of recommendations for public life and policy. The final report, which formed the basis of the discussion at the meeting, can be read here.
At this meeting three members of the commission set out the main recommendations and invite your response. We very much hope you were able to attend and take part in the discussion.
Speakers: Stephen Timms MP (Chair); The Rt Rev. the Lord Harries of Pentregarth; Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra, Assistant Secretary General, Muslim Council of Britain; and Dr Ed Kessler MBE, Director of the Woolf Institute
