Earlier this year, the Centre for the Study of Christianity & Culture at the University of York produced a report on the value of churches to local communities entitled Churches, COVID-19 and Communities. This was measured primarily through the services and support churches provide to local residents (members and non-members alike), as well as through the experience of loss felt as a result of the closure or restricted activity of churches during the pandemic.
The report and subsequent work have looked at four central questions:
- What do COVID-hit communities need most?
- What have churches achieved thus far?
- How can churches help communities through recovery?
- What support will churches need?
The APPG on Faith and Society would like to invite you to attend a webinar at 10am on Thursday 9th December. This event will be an opportunity to hear about the main findings of the report and discuss what support can be offered to churches during the COVID-19 recovery to ensure the communities they are based in benefit from all that churches have to offer through the months and years ahead.
Please email FaithAction at [email protected] if you have any questions.
